System Description

The Kaymich Tipping Paper Applicator is specifically designed to apply synthetic resin emulsion adhesives (PVA) to the cigarette filter tipping paper on Hauni Max 80 & 90 machines. 

Application of adhesive is applied by a single roller with a pattern of precision cells machined into the surface. A doctoring (control) system ensures an even and consistent application.

The roller rotates in an enclosed tank which contains a controlled level of adhesive and as the tank is enclosed, water loss and contamination are greatly reduced.

A pick-up disc is attached to one end of the roller which collects a volume of adhesive from the bottom of the tank. A primary doctor blade regulates this volume of adhesive, whilst the rest is re-circulated. The remaining adhesive is transferred from the pick-up disc into the Secondary doctor blade assembly. The adhesive is spread evenly over the surface of the roller, filling the pattern of individual cells.

The quantity of adhesive applied can be varied by adjusting the amount of contact between the application roller and the filter tipping paper, therefore accommodating a wide range of adhesives and papers.

When the cigarette tipping machine stops, the cigarette filter tipping paper is lifted clear of the roller whilst maintaining the correct tension.

The system is supplied complete with its own control cabinet, which incorporates an adhesive storage tank, pump and motor assembly, eliminating the use of the original Hauni pump.
